ZANTE is known as the flower of the Ionian Sea, the native land of the most famous poets and literary men of Greek history who were inspired by the beauty of the islands nature and the breathtaking clear blue seas.
[Ktima Kourou Tragaki Zante Zakynthos]
In an outstanding Mediterranean landscape of 6000m2 of olive groves situated near the traditionally built village \'Tragaki\' only 300m from the most beautiful beaches of the island on the east coast of Zakynthos stands the country farm of the \'Kouros\' family, which consists of 5 individual traditionally stone built country houses and the harmonious farm.
The land was cultivated for eight generations before coming to the ownership of Helen (the granddaughter) and her husband Andreas Stroubakos who visualised the revival of the farm estate and strong memories of the genuine Zakynthian traditional hospitality.
The family\'s love for their country and their need to offer the unique sense of the historical Zakynthian mansions of the last century led the Kouros descendants to create a distinguished group of traditional country houses (built 2002) on the farm.
The construction began with the selections of stone from the mountainous villages of \'Kiliomenos\' and \'Ag. Leon \' which was perfectly carved by local craftsmen who preserved the traditional architecture of the island. The combination of stone and wood in its natural condition is remarkable.
Ceilings made of wooden logs, antiquated wooden doors; stone bricks from local kilns and forged iron were all worked on wisely by old Zakynthian craftsmen.
All materials used to construct the houses were natural to preserve and respect the environment.Villa Roma
The complex is located in the area between the historical village of Tragaki (1,5km) and the famous holiday resort of Tsilivi (1km).
Our estate is at a distance of 300m from the beautiful sandy beach of \"Mpouka\" which has been awarded the blue flag as one of the cleanest beaches with the clearest blue seas of the island.
Just 500m away you can visit the \"Gaidaros\" bay where you can buy fresh fish daily from the local fishermen on their fishing boats. One of the most interesting sights of the area is the Monastery of the Virgin Mary Dermatousa that stands from the year of 1600.
You may also visit the open-air theatre \"Avouri\" where remarkable theatrical plays and concerts take place every summer.
As for the traditional stone built village of Tragaki built on a beautiful nearby hill you will surely enjoy to walk on the narrow stone paved streets and visit places where the national heroes of the 1821 revolution met.
Of course if you wish to spend some time of your holiday in a more intense way with nightlife entertainment and good quality meals, the cosmopolitan area of Tsilivi will offer nights to remember. Don\'t forget to do your souvenir shopping for your friends back home at one of the tourist gift shops in the area which serves all tastes. As for your daily food supplies there is a supermarket selling food and freshly made bread within walking distance (100m) form Kouros Estate.
